3 Delicious Whiskey Slush Recipes

Bracing, biting, and brutally beautiful, whiskey shines like liquid gold on any bar shelf. This spirit pleases palates in classic cocktails and modern twists, delighting even the most discerning taste buds. But what happens when you throw a blender into the mix?

If you’re looking for a fun, refreshing twist on the whiskey cocktail, look no further than the whiskey slush.

The whiskey slush is a concoction that’s perfect for an evening on the porch or an afternoon by the pool. It traditionally follows the general recipe of a whiskey sour (with the addition of sweetened black tea) and is made in large batches and frozen overnight.1 When made with bourbon whiskey, it’s also known as a bourbon slush.

If you’re craving one right now (we know we are), worry not—we’ve crafted three convenient spins on the classic whiskey slush recipe that you can make in merely minutes using SLIQ whiskey ice pops.

Also, if you’re interested in learning how whiskey is made, head on over to our blog where we’ve written all about it!

First, Grab The Most Important Ingredient: SLIQ’s Whiskey Pops

These easy-peasy frozen cocktail recipes all share a special ingredient. You’ve probably seen SLIQ’s Frozen Cocktail Pops at a recent picnic, tailgate, or innertube river party. They’re the perfect party companion, and they’re also perfect for incorporating into frozen cocktails.

We’ve designed three new flavors for our fellow-whiskey lovers:

  • Apple
  • Cola
  • Ginger

While they can definitely be enjoyed solo, the beauty of these pops is in their cocktail versatility.

3 Sensational Whiskey Slush Recipes

Whether you’re a fan of classic cola cocktails or hanker for the bite of a spirit-forward sip, you’ll find a new favorite in our favorite whiskey slush recipes.

1. Cherry Cola Whiskey Slush

How about some fruity whiskey drinks? Cherry cola brings to mind ball games, darkened movie theaters, and teenage dreams. Distill all that youthful verve and give it a grown-up kick with a cherry-cola-flavored whiskey slush.

You’ll need the following ingredients for this 2-serving slush cocktail recipe:

  1. Combine everything but the cherries in a blender. SLIQ Cocktail Pops has an ABV content of eight percent—use just two pops for a single serving of alcohol per drink. You can adjust the number of pops added depending upon your personal tastes.
  2. Blend. Add more ice if needed, then blend again. Serve the cocktails in soda bottle glasses and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Whiskey Tip: You can pre-freeze the cherry cola in an ice tray to achieve an even icier slush.

2. Sour Apple Whiskey Slush

If you’ve ever wanted to sip the flavors of autumn in a frosty glass, this might just be your new signature drink. Blended together, apple-sweetness and the kick of whiskey create a distinctly fall vibe perfect for Halloween parties or chilly fall nights by the fire.

Make sure the following ingredients are ready for cocktail action:

  1. Combine all the ingredients into a blender.
  2. Blend well, adding more ice if needed. Adjust the number of cocktail pops and the amount of sweetening agent to your desired taste and alcohol level.
  3. Serve in a mason jar.

Whiskey Tip: If you’re looking to wow your fellow whiskey-enthusiasts with a cocktail worthy of the ‘gram, break out your best garnish game with an apple slice or a twist of lemon. If you’ve got a handheld culinary blowtorch (and haven’t had anything to drink yet), try igniting a cinnamon stick, blowing out the flame, and use the cinnamon as a garnish. The smoldering stick will add a little smoky spice to this icy drink.

3. Ginger Old-Fashioned Slush

Unlike an old-fashioned over ice, there’s no need to make a simple syrup or buy whole fruit before preparing this drink. Orange juice concentrate adds easy flavor and sweetness to this slush recipe, with bitters and SLIQ’s ginger flavored Cocktail Pops providing the kick.

To yield about two servings of slush, you’ll need:

  • Two ounces of thawed orange juice concentrate
  • Two ounces of lemon juice or lime juice
  • Two ounces of water
  • A handful of ice
  • Two to four SLIQ Spirited Ice Ginger Whiskey Pops
  • A few dashes of bitters
  • Candied or fresh shaved ginger

Now let’s do this old fashioned a new-fashioned way:

  1. Combine everything apart from the ginger in a blender.
  2. Adjust the number of alcohol ice pops according to your personal desired alcohol content and taste.
  3. Serve in a tall highball glass and garnish with either candied or fresh shaved ginger on top.

Serve Up Something Unexpected with SLIQ

Whether you sip it neat, on the rocks, or blended into a frosty perfection, whiskey is certainly in a league of its own. With the help of SLIQ’s tasty new whiskey ice pops, you’ll be able to make any moment a whiskey moment, whether you’re playing mixologist at a black-tie house party or concocting something delectable by the campfire.

Premium flavor, portable convenience, and plenty of fun—seize the title of “life of the party” by bringing a cooler of SLIQ Frozen Cocktail Pops to your next gathering.

3 Different Cinco De Mayo Cocktail Recipes

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Contrary to what you may have heard, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico’s Independence Day. Rather, it is a celebration of the Mexican army’s victory over the French in 1862 at the Battle of Puebla. And, other than in Puebla itself, it isn’t considered a major holiday in Mexico.1

Why are we supplying you with this minor history lesson? To equip you with a fun factoid you can tell your friends while sipping Cinco de Mayo cocktails with alcohol ice pops, of course.

If you’re planning on celebrating this Cinco de Mayo, you’ll need more than just Mexican history fun facts. To ensure you have the best party possible, you also need some delicious Cinco de Mayo cocktail recipes. Thankfully we’ve got three of our favorite Cinco de Mayo drinks lined up. So grab your SLIQ Spirited Ice frozen cocktail pops and let’s jump into some cocktail recipes that will make your Cinco de Mayo party a hit.

#1 Oaxacan Old Fashioned

The Oaxacan Old Fashioned is for those looking for a slightly fancier option. This drink is fun because it incorporates the smokiness of a mezcal cocktail with the flavor of tequila for a can’t-miss cocktail experience. It’s a refined choice and a crowd-pleaser.

To make a batch of six, you’ll need:2

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients, add them together in a large pitcher and stir.

Since your SLIQ frozen cocktail pops will impart some sweetness as they melt, you may want to wait and add them to each glass individually as you serve. For garnish, have some orange peels ready to place in each glass. If you’re looking for some easy tequila drinks to make, but are also looking to spice things up, this could be a great flavor substitute.

#2 Michelada

Is your friend group more into beer than cocktails? No problem—we’ve got you covered.

The Michelada is a beer meets Bloody Mary that comes in many variations. While this recipe uses tomato juice, lime, Worcestershire, and hot sauce, you can play around with your own ingredients or use your favorite pre-made bloody mary mix.

For this tasty treat, you’ll need the following to make six:3

  • 3 cans of 12-ounce light beer, preferably Mexican
  • 36 ounces tomato juice
  • 12 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3 ounces Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 SLIQ Spirited Ice Vodka Lemonade Pops
  • 2 ounces hot sauce (Tabasco is traditional, but you can sub in your favorite)

To make this batch, combine all your ingredients except your beer and your SLIQ pops. When you serve, place your SLIQ pop into your glass, fill it halfway with your batched drink, then add half a can of beer.

#3 Mezcal Negroni

Lastly, we have a drink for the lovers of all things smokey. If you’re looking for a boozy addition to your Cinco de Mayo party, a mezcal negroni may be just what you need.

To make six drinks, you’ll need:4

Add all your booze together and stir. Keep your SLIQ pops to the side until you’re ready to serve them and then add the pops and your batched drink to the glass. Give another quick stir and you’re ready to enjoy this smoky, bitter, and boozy concoction.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with SLIQ

Celebrate Mexican culture with a variety of Mexican drinks that speak to the region’s diverse flavor profiles. And don’t be afraid to experiment—while a classic Margarita is sure to please, adding a few tasty additions to the mix can elevate any party. If you’re also wondering how to make a paloma or the difference between a paloma vs. margarita, we’ve got you covered!

Frozen margarita pops may be exactly what you need to keep your Cinco de Mayo party cool and delicious. And while they’re great in cocktails, they’re just as good on their own.

Have a great Cinco de Mayo party with SLIQ!

4 Easy Tequila Drinks to Make at Home

Tequila is one of the most popular spirits in America. Last year, sales of tequila and mezcal grew at the second-largest pace in the entire spirit industry (behind only pre-mixed cocktails).1

With all that tequila flying off the shelves, you should be prepared with some go-to recipes for easy tequila drinks you can make at your next get-together. Thankfully tequila mixes easily with many ingredients, and when you add in the smokier mezcal option, you have plenty of cocktails to choose from. So, let’s look at 4 easy drinks to make with tequila that you can enjoy yourself or have ready when your tequila-loving friends come for a visit.

1. Dulce Diablo

The Dulce Diablo cocktail is a fiery mix of spicy and sweet. Its origin is unknown (it may have fallen from heaven, just like its namesake), but it’s notorious for its peppery ginger and jalapeno undertones. Its silver tequila base only adds fire to the flames—in all the tastiest ways. And, perhaps, best of all, it’s incredibly simple to make.

Ingredients

As it’s traditionally made with silver lime tequila, this is the perfect cocktail to enlist SLIQ’s tart Classic Margarita frozen cocktail pop. But you’ll also need a few more fixings:

Making the Drink

To make this drink, you’ll need a shaker and your assortment of ingredients:

  1. Add the silver tequila, jalapeno syrup, and ginger syrup to the shaker.
  2. Take your SLIQ frozen cocktail pop, crush it to the desired consistency, and add it to the shaker.
  3. Shake well.
  4. Strain and pour the cocktail into a glass.
  5. Top it off with ginger beer and garnish with a lime wedge.

2. Paloma

You can think of the Paloma as the margarita’s slightly bitter cousin. The addition of grapefruit gives this tequila drink a mild bite, while the use of club soda provides a refreshing effervescence.

Ingredients

If you have the ingredients for a margarita, you’ll only need a couple of additions to make your Paloma:2

Making the Drink

This is another drink where you can choose whether you want to salt the rim of your glass ahead of time. The process of making it is also very similar to making the margarita:

  • Add all the ingredients except your SLIQ pop and club soda into the cocktail shaker.
  • Add ice.
  • Shake well.
  • Strain into a highball glass.
  • Add your SLIQ frozen cocktail pop. Then, slowly add the club soda on top of the drink.
  • Garnish with a fresh lime or grapefruit wedge.

3. Bloody Maria

If your get-together is earlier in the day and you’re looking for more of a morning drink, look no further than the Bloody Maria. This easy recipe uses a pre-made mix, but if you’re feeling ambitious, you can always make a homemade mix suited to your specific taste.

Ingredients

It doesn’t get much easier than this:3

Making the Drink

It’s the morning, so you shouldn’t have to bother with a bunch of steps. Simply:

  • Add the mix into a glass. Preferably, the mix should be chilled ahead of time.
  • Add the tequila.
  • Add the SLIQ pop.
  • Give it a quick stir to make sure the tequila doesn’t just sit on the top.

Garnishes

Since construction was easy for this drink, you can focus more of your efforts on the garnish. Start with a celery stalk (you can even use this as your stirrer). Then, you can basically add whatever else you want.

Popular options include:

  • Olives
  • Hot sauce
  • Lime wedge
  • Salt
  • Cocktail onions
  • Pickles
  • Peppers
  • Bacon

There are no wrong garnishes here. Feel free to get as creative as you like.

4. Mezcal Old-Fashioned

For the smoke lovers, here’s a refined option that uses mezcal as the base spirit. It’s a fun option that many people may not have tried before, but it may just become your new favorite drink.

Ingredients

The ingredients on this can be a bit fluid. You can sub in different types of bitters (Peychaud’s or Fee Brothers would work), and you can use different sweeteners (simple syrup or a sugar cube). You can even sub some reposado tequila for some of the mezcal if you want a less smoky variation.4

Making the Drink

Since there’s no citrus in this drink, there’s no need to shake it. That means you can build it in the glass. Simply add all of the ingredients to a rocks glass and stir. To top it off, garnish with an orange peel. You might be interested in learning how to make spicy margaritas or low calorie tequila drinks.

Enjoy Your Drinks with SLIQ

There you have it—4 drinks that are sure to be a hit even though making them takes no sweat at all (though if you want to claim hard labor, we won’t tell). Of course, the easiest drink of all is to simply go to your freezer and grab a SLIQ frozen cocktail pop. In addition to our Agave Margarita Pops, we also offer frozen Whiskey Highball Pops, Vodka Slush Pops, and Rum Daiquiri Pops.

SLIQ Spirited Ice: The Easiest Beach Cocktails

A refreshing, fruity cocktail and an endless, sandy beach go together like the moon and the tide. You simply can’t have one without the other. Whether you’re soaking up the sun on your towel or crushing it at the beach volleyball court, sipping on a handcrafted cocktail is the perfect way to help you unwind.

But when it comes to making your favorite beachy drinks, the prep work can become a hassle. Instead of lugging your entire bar cart across the sandy shore, opt for something simpler—without sacrificing flavor.

Keep reading for some easy beach cocktails that will have you packing light and drinking right. Featuring SLIQ frozen cocktail pops, we’ll share three no-fuss recipes that are sure to impress.

A glass of fresh and cold orange juice cocktail against the background of the sea

Hit Refresh with a Crisp Paloma

Don’t get us wrong: we’re all for turning a glass of freshly-squeezed OJ into a tequila sunrise. Every once and a while, though, we like to mix it up with something a bit more unexpected.

Meet the fresh, elegant Paloma cocktail. A vacation palette cleanser if there ever was one, this grapefruit-drenched dreamboat of a drink will help you find your beach—whether or not you’re actually on vacation.

For a taste of Mexico’s most adored beverage, ready the following ingredients:

Now that you’ve gathered your ingredients, it’s time to work your magic and take flight:

  • Choose your glassware – Never underestimate the power of the glassware when it comes to setting the tone for cocktail hour. Highball sets are perfect for long, languorous afternoons spent beachside, but if you really want to elevate the golden hour, break out a stemmed set, like classic champagne flutes.
  • Add the salt – Heap your salt of choice on a saucer and give the rim of each glass a good old-fashioned rub down with your grapefruit wedge. Then, finely dip each glass rim into the salt.
  • Stir up your beverage – Mix the grapefruit juice, lime juice, and mezcal or tequila. Once stirred, finish with a bath of club soda.
  • Complete with a pop – Grapefruit on its own can be astringent to sip on, but don’t reach for the sugar. Instead, garnish each beverage with a SLIQ pop to balance out the bitter and keep your palomas chilled to perfection.

Not sure which SLIQ flavor to choose? We love the Classic Margarita for a dryer finish, but if you’re craving a bit more sweetness, gussy up your cocktail with Mango or Strawberry.

SLIQ CALL TO ACTION

Ride the Waves with the Rum Runner

Known more as a summer cocktail, but even on a chilly day, this rum-based drink will have you dreaming of tropical islands, palm trees, and floral leis in no time. A mixture of colorful fruits and fruity boozes, the rum runner cocktail recipe is easy to follow—and to personalize. Break out the shaker and grab the following ingredients to get started:2

  • 1 oz dark rum
  • 1 SLIQ Spirited Ice Rum Pineapple Daiquiri Pop
  • 1 oz pineapple juice or another tart fruit juice such as mango, lime, or grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz banana liqueur or creme de ananas
  • ½ oz blackberry liqueur
  • A splash of grenadine
  • Fresh fruit of your choice for garnishing, including pineapple, lime, strawberries, blackberries, orange, and maraschino cherries
  • Fresh ice for the shaker and the cocktail glass

This may be a mouthful of ingredients, but the explosion of flavor to come will be worth it. Follow these instructions to put your drink together:

  • Shake it like you mean it – Add all the ingredients except for the fresh fruit to your cocktail shaker. Continue shaking until it’s well blended.
  • Style it pretty – Grab a hurricane glass, highball glass, or tumbler, and add ice to the bottom. Empty the liquid from the shaker into the glass. Add and arrange your favorite fruits to create a drink that’s unique to you.

Sip on Paradise with the Blue Lagoon

If you want a drink that blends in with the ocean, look no further than this vodka-based beach cocktail that comes in waves of sweet and sour. The blue lagoon not only looks like sparkling blue seawater, but it tastes just as refreshing. Grab these ingredients to get sipping:3

Follow these steps to pack paradise in a glass:

  • Crush the pops – Part of what gives this refreshing cocktail its dreamy consistency is the crushed ice inside, so throw your frozen cocktail pops in your shaker, and work them into a slush using your muddler. If you’d like more ice, crush some cubes in the same way and add them to the mix.
  • Mix it up – Add the blue curacao, simple syrup, and lemon juice to your shaker. Shake until the outside is cold to the touch.4
  • Strain it out – Put crushed or cubed ice in your cocktail glass as desired. Pour your delectable mixture into the glass. Finish it off by adding a straw, an orange rind, or a cherry on top.

Keep reading for some easy-to-make summer vodka drinks to get you inspired. We’ll cover the basic ingredients and directions, then share ideas for how to add your own twist.

#1 Hard Lemonade on Ice for Your Backyard BBQ

Turn that casual cookout into an upscale affair by infusing your lemonade with smooth, polished 7X distilled vodka—and make it a slush for an extra tasty treat. But before you can pour your delectable mixture into a crystal clear highball glass, you’ve got to make it first. Start with the following ingredients:1

Grab and blender and a saucepan to tackle these next steps:

  • Simmer and cool – Combine the sugar and water in a small pan on the stove. Bring it to a simmer, and then let the mixture cool. Pro tip: to skip this step, use 3oz of simple syrup as your sugar water replacement.
  • Blend it together – Throw your frozen cocktail pops into the blender along with the lemon juice. Add ice cubes and sugar water (or simple syrup) to your desired consistency and taste. Blend it together and serve. Garnish with a lemon rind and a sugar rim for a touch of sweetness. Pro tip: replace the lemon juice with lime juice for a lemon-lime summer vodka cocktail that’s sure to be refreshing.

Make it Blue

If you’re looking for a fusion of fruity flavors and a bold pop of color, switch out your lemonade pops for the SLIQ Spirited Ice Vodka Blue Raspberry Pops instead. Add in 1-2 tablespoons of blue raspberry syrup to finish it off.2

This is the sign you were looking for! Try SLIQ now!

#2 Keep it Sharp with a Summery Screwdriver

Put an innovative spin on a classic screwdriver by adding some much-needed tartness. Swap out the traditional orange-flavored base with a grapefruit variation to impress even the toughest cocktail critics.

Start by gathering the following ingredients:3

Then, put your mixology skills to the test:

  • Juice, juice, juice – The first step is to make the grapefruit juice itself. To do so, grab your blender and fill it with the grapefruit, water, and sugar. Blend for 45 seconds to 1 minute, or until you’ve reached your desired consistency. If you don’t like pulp, strain it out.4
  • Keep it shaking – Put your SLIQ Spirited Ice Vodka Pops into a cocktail shaker and add the grapefruit juice. You may not need to use all of your juice—just enough to please your palette. Shake it well.
  • Assemble your drink – Grab a highball glass, add some ice cubes, and pour in your mixture. Finish it off with a thin slice of grapefruit to hug the lip of the glass.

Fizz It Up

Rather than use only grapefruit juice in your shaker, go half and half with grapefruit juice and club soda for even more freshness.5 This is the perfect way to satisfy your craving for tartness without settling for something too sweet.

#3 Coast by with a Cape Cod Cocktail

A dream beach getaway isn’t complete without a drink to match. What better cocktail to have in your hand while you sit under an umbrella enjoying the breeze than the elegant Cape Cod Cocktail?

To create this stunning dark red vodka cocktail, gather the following ingredients:6

If you left your shaker at home, you’re in luck. All you need is a Collins glass to put this drink together. Start with your SLIQ frozen cocktail pops, then add a dash of cranberry juice and black cherry liqueur. Stir the frozen pops around to combine them with other ingredients. Thanks to the pops, this sipper is cold as is. Feel free to add an ice cube or two, if desired. Be sure to check out our other easy beach cocktails and be transported to paradise.

3 Festive Easter Drink Ideas for Adults

Easter table

Between the chocolate, the jellybeans, and the bunnies galore, Easter brings so much sweet splendor for kids to delight in. You have fields full of painted eggs and row upon row of tooth-achingly sweet, canary yellow Peeps for the kids—but what do Mom and Dad have to look forward to (other than stealing a few chocolate eggs for themselves)?

For adults, too, Easter can be a time of celebration and indulgence, especially because it provides the perfect occasion to craft festive springtime cocktails.

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect holiday libation, look no further. We’ve brought you our favorite Easter drink ideas featuring SLIQ’s alcohol ice pops below. Not only do they get top marks for taste and creativity, but they’ll also keep you busy while the kiddos hunt for eggs.
A cool new way to get your buzz on. Get SLIQ now!

#1 Peep-a Colada

Here’s a creamy, dreamy concoction that’s bound to delight your favorite peeps. Borrowing its name from the classic Easter confection, the Peep-a Colada is every bit as indulgent as the nostalgic marshmallow treat and every bit as crowd-pleasing as the iconic rum-spiked cocktail.

If you’re eager to get your Easter party off to a hopping start with this frozen rum drink, begin by assembling the following ingredients:

From there, making your Peep-a-Colada is a walk in the park:

  • Combine ingredients – Simply pour every ingredient, including the SLIQ Rum Ice Pop, into a blender and blend, adding ice a little bit at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  • Garnish and serve – Pour the mixture into a Hurricane glass and top with a dollop of whipped cream to resemble a nest. The whip cream is optional, but it does dress your drink up with an adorable add-on. Finally, place a Peep on top of the whipped cream “nest” and enjoy!

Tip: Up the ante on this indulgence this Easter by replacing the crushed ice in this cocktail with a small scoop of pineapple sherbert. Not only will this substitution increase tropical sweetness, but it will also lend a festive pop of color.

#2 The Jessica Rabbit

Mimosa cocktailSomebunny told us that the surest way to get in the Easter spirit is with this garden-inspired cocktail. With bright, assertive flavors that smack of spring, we think they’re on to something.

Like the voluptuous cartoon character of the same name, the Jessica Rabbit cocktail is all about proportions: a little bit sweet, a little bit spicy, and all the way irresistible with its fiery orange, sumptuous display.

But this cocktail doesn’t depend on looks alone. It’s driven by flavor. Jalapeno gives a heady kick, while a splash of carrot juice evokes the freshness of the season, especially when partnered with an herbaceous cilantro garnish.

Vegetables? In a cocktail? Yup, it’s practically a healthy food.

And while the traditional Jessica Rabbit cocktails depend on a shot or two of tequila for their Easter punch recipe,1 we’re swapping in SLIQ’s Frozen Agave Margarita Ice Pops to give this Easter cocktail recipe a lighter, more premium chill.

Yes, you can have one at brunch. Yes, you can have another.

To make the Jessica Rabbit frozen tequila drink, first gather the following ingredients:

Next, get to crafting your cocktail:

  • Muddle your ice pops – In this cocktail, alcoholic ice pops serve a dual purpose: playing the role of spirit and ice. To prepare them for their big moment, simply place them in the bottom of a cocktail shaker or mixing glass and crush them with a muddler until they break into small chunks (about the size of crushed ice). Then, transfer the pieces into a Collins glass, and stick the glass in the freezer.
  • Shake it up – Take your cocktail shaker and add the Cointreau, carrot juice, orange juice, simple syrup, jalapeno, and ice. Shake until the drink is well-chilled (the shaker should feel cold to touch).
  • Combine and serve – Remove the Collins glass from the freezer. Strain the contents of your cocktail shaker into the glass over the alcoholic ice pops. And for that final flair? Gussy up your drink in its Sunday best. Garnish your cocktail with a sprig of cilantro and a baby radish. Cheers to spring, to the holiday, and to finally enjoying those five servings of veggies!

#3 Strawberry Fields

Springtime? More like spritz time.

Herbaceous, tart, and in a perfect-for-Easter shade of pastel pink, this sweet little frozen fruit cocktail is not only easy on the eyes, but it’s also incredibly easy to make (like, a lot easier than decorating all those Easter eggs, thank goodness).

To start your spritz, simply assemble a handful of high-quality ingredients, including:

Now, put the painted Easter egg aside to dry, and break out the mixology kit:

  • Combine your tasty ingredients – In the bottom of a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, combine the strawberries, sugar, mint, and ice pop.
  • Muddle away – Using a muddler and all of your upper body strength, crush the ingredients together until they’re broken up into small pieces and roughly combined.
  • Mix it all together to serve – Scoop the mixture into the bottom of a large wine glass and top with sparkling rosé. Garnish with more mint and strawberries and enjoy responsibly (as in, don’t let the success of this cocktail go to your head; otherwise, you may not fit into your adorable Easter bonnet).

#1 Spicy Watermelon Tequila Slushy

A welcome new addition to your at-home cocktail arsenal? A frozen fruit libation that’s not afraid to spice things up. Meet the Spicy Watermelon Tequila Slushy—guaranteed to keep you cool during the dog days of summer and bring the heat through the dead of winter.

In this spicy spin on a classic frozen Margarita, jalapeno adds a welcome intensity and compelling complexity to sweet, refreshing watermelon.

To get started making this skinny margarita, assemble the following ingredients, including some of SLIQ’s frozen margarita pops, and you’ll have almost everything you need to transform your kitchen into Cabo San Lucas:

  • 1 cup frozen watermelon pieces (seedless)
  • 1 ¼-inch thick jalapeno slice
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1 ounce Tequila Blanco
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 SLIQ Spirited Ice Agave Classic Margarita Pop
  • Crushed ice (as needed)
  • Lime wedge (to garnish)
  • Jalapeno slice (to garnish)

From there, it’s time to whip up this watermelon wonder:

  • Combine ingredients – First, toss and pour all of the ingredients into your blender and mix. To achieve the perfect chill without sacrificing the kick, add the ice in small increments at first and increase the amount as needed.
  • Pour and serve – When you’ve achieved your desired consistency, pour the mixture into your glass of choice (we love an oversized Margarita glass, but your favorite tumbler will do in a pinch) and garnish with a wedge of lime and jalapeno slice.
  • This is the sign you were looking for! Try SLIQ now!

#2 The Miami Vice

If you believe that the only thing better than a frozen fruit cocktail is two frozen fruit cocktails, you’ll want to get to know the Miami Vice.

Forged by the occasionally lethal, always luxurious combination of two classic rum-based cocktails—the Piña Colada and the Strawberry Daiquiri—this creamy, indulgent classic cocktail feels just as essential at a book club as it does at the beach club (and yes, that includes the makeshift Club Maeva in your living room).

First concocted in the 1980s, the Miami Vice is a product of its time—as colorful, over the top, and high-spirited as a Jane Fonda workout tape.1 But this tempting cocktail has endured throughout the decades (unlike, say, the 80s television show that bears the same name).

Plus, the Miami Vice is refreshingly simple to make at home. All you’ll need is need your trusty blender, a Hurricane glass, and the following ingredients:

Assembling the Miami Vice is as easy as one-two-three:

  • Make the strawberry mix – Combine half of the rum, the SLIQ Strawberry Daiquiri Pop, strawberries, lime juice, simple syrup, and crushed ice in your blender and mix until you reach a smooth consistency. Pour the mixture into the bottom of your Hurricane glass and place it in your freezer to chill.
  • Concoct the colada – Clean out your blender, then add the rest of the rum, coconut cream, pineapple juice, SLIQ Coconut & Lime Daiquiri Pop, and ice as needed. Blend until you reach a smooth consistency.
  • Combine and serve – Fetch your Hurricane glass from the freezer and slowly pour the coconut mixture on top of the strawberry layer. Garnish with a pineapple slice and enjoy!
  • Grapefruit Mimosa cocktail

#3 Frozen Grapefruit Mimosa

Looking for the perfect cocktail to serve at your next brunch party? This Frozen Grapefruit Mimosa, featuring SLIQ’s vodka ice pops, makes a sparkling companion for any daytime fête.

Pared down and grown-up, this citrus vodka drink is part sparkle, part slushy, and wholly refreshing. With this sophisticated yet vibrant combination of flavors, the result is a decidedly elegant, slightly effervescent cocktail—a balanced, refined departure from jumbo-sized tiki drinks (and jumbo-sized sugar crashes).

Fancy serving up this boozy, fruity, spring vodka cocktail? Begin by gathering:

With this all-star line-up assembled, the rest comes easily:

  • Combine the good stuff – To make your frozen mimosa, simply combine the grapefruit juice, SLIQ Spirited Ice Vodka Cranberry & Grapefruit Pop, Aperol, and crushed ice in your blender and mix until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Garnish and serve – Pour this mixture into a champagne glass or coupe glass, top with prosecco, and enjoy!

3 Refreshing Spring Vodka Cocktails

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the flowers are blooming, which can only mean one thing: Spring is here. If you’re anything like us, you probably got through winter with the help of some trusty winter vodka cocktails, perfect for those long cold nights.

But now that spring is arriving, may we make a suggestion? More vodka! (With a bit of sweetness, citrus, and ice added, of course.) Frozen cocktails are the perfect spring drinks to welcome back long days and warm temperatures.

So, let’s get into recipes for three of the best spring vodka cocktails made with SLIQ alcohol ice pops for when you’re ready to switch out your hot cocoa for something a little more refreshing.

Girls enjoying vodka cocktails

#1 Frozen Cosmopolitan

Maybe you’ve seen the recent reboot of Sex and the City and it made you nostalgic for a classic cosmopolitan cocktail. Well, while Carrie and the gang have been gone for over a decade, thankfully, the cosmo never went anywhere. This is one of the best vodka cocktails, and the frozen version is the perfect companion for when you emerge from your winter hibernation back into the sun-soaked world of spring. Let’s start by assembling the needed vodka cocktail ingredients:1

To make the cocktail recipe, simply add all the ingredients (including the vodka ice pop) into a blender and blend until you have the perfect, slushy consistency. The color should be light pink. If it starts to go red, you probably used a bit too much cranberry and may need to add some vodka. Pour the slushy into your favorite Martini glass and garnish the drink with a lemon twist, lime wedge, or orange peel. Enjoy this girly vodka drink!

#2 Beach-Inspired Slushie

As soon as the weather starts getting warmer, it’s natural for your mind to start picturing the hot, sunny days ahead. Spring comes with anticipation for beach days and sunbathing next to the lapping waves and cawing seagulls.

Even if the temperature isn’t quite ready for us to hit the beach in person, we can go there in our minds and in our cocktails with this tropical slushy recipe that’s a lot like paradise:2

Making this spring cocktail is a two-step process:

  • Step One – Combine your SLIQ Spirited Ice Vodka Cranberry & Grapefruit Pop with the cranberry juice in a blender. Blend until desired. Pour the slush into the bottom of your glass.
  • Step Two – Combine the rest of the ingredients in the blender. Blend until desired. Pour the mixture on top of the cranberry slush already in the glass.

If done correctly, you should have a red bottom layer leading into a more orange top layer, creating an ombre effect—much like those beautiful spring sunsets. Top off your fruity cocktail with a maraschino cherry and you’ve got yourself a cool, refreshing spring cocktail.

Blue lagoon cocktail drink with lemon juice and mint leaves

#3 The Frozen Blue Lagoon

This year’s hottest Spring Break destination? Your home bar. There’s no need to spring for expensive airfare when you can easily whip up a cocktail that’s as dazzling—and refreshing—as the Caribbean Sea. Meet the Blue Lagoon: a luminously tart, endlessly quaffable, bright blue beauty that’s guaranteed to bring you a dose of tropical sunshine, even on those rainy April days.

While delightful on the rocks, we prefer to enjoy this citrus-spiked stunner as a slushy. Imagine: all of the nostalgia of a frozen lemonade, plus a spirited kick to help you chill out. What better way to summon sunny skies and swim-up bars?

Arriving at this Blue Lagoon is fairly straightforward—you won’t need to go through customs or travel three days by boat. Simply begin this vodka slushy recipe by assembling the following ingredients:

From there, crafting the cocktail is a breeze. Just combine all of the ingredients in a blender, going easy on the ice to start, and mix until you reach your desired consistency (you can always add more ice if needed). Pour the cocktail into a Hurricane glass and garnish with the lemon wheel and maraschino cherry. Bonus points if you can dig up a colorful cocktail umbrella.

After that? It’s time to kick back and watch the tide (or emails, whatever) roll in. Slide on your sandals, turn up the Jimmy Buffett, and enjoy responsibly. We’re on island time now—no need to rush.

Frozen strawberry lime basil margarita in glasses

#1 Love Potion Cocktail

When we talk about girly alcoholic drinks, what do we mean? First and foremost, the girly drink needs to taste good. Then we can focus on elements that will elevate the flavored vodka drinks from your typical bar fare with:

  • Creativity
  • Looks
  • Balanced sweetness

With that in mind, our first drink marries each of these elements to create a stunning pink, fruit-forward cocktail that will set your heart aflutter: The Love Potion. For our version, we’ll be making it frozen. You’ll start with four sweet cocktail ingredients, including a SLIQ vodka ice pop:1

Making the Drink

This vodka cocktail, which by the way is also a perfect spring vodka cocktail, is easy to put together. Just grab a blender, add all your ingredients, and blend until you have your desired consistency. This sweet cocktail can be served in any cocktail glass, but a sugar-rimmed martini glass makes for an especially elegant presentation. Garnish the cocktail glass with your choice of a grapefruit twist or a strawberry wedge.

A cool new way to get your buzz on. Get SLIQ now!

#2 Frozen Appletini

The appletini is sometimes thought of as the epitome of a girly drink. Perhaps this is because it’s a mellower, slightly sweeter sister to the classic vodka martini. But make no mistake, this high-alcohol drink packs a punch. To make a frozen appletini you’ll need to start with these ingredients:2

Making the Drink

This is another easy one. Combine all the vodka martini ingredients and blend away. Again, a martini glass is the preferred vessel for this vodka drink. Although, we’d suggest skipping the sugar rim this time. Garnish with a slice of green apple instead to complement the green color of the vodka drink.

#3 Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri

We’ve been talking about girly vodka drinks, but let’s detour for a second. Vodka is a great spirit because it’s so malleable and able to let other flavors shine through, but maybe some of your girlfriends (or you) prefer alcohol with a more distinct flavor. If so, a rum-based frozen strawberry daiquiri may be just the mixed drink for you. Let’s compile the needed ingredients:3

Making the Drink

To make the mixed drink, add all the ingredients into your blender and blend. If you’re unsure about how sweet you want the drink, feel free to leave out your simple syrup and add it slowly at the end until you get the desired sweetness. Once ready, this can be served in a coupe glass or a rocks glass. Garnish with a wedged strawberry or a lime wheel.

The great thing about making this classic cocktail with SLIQ’s frozen pops is that the ice won’t water down the flavor of your fresh strawberries. In this recipe, the strawberry daiquiri pops allow your strawberry zest to shine through with full force.

#4 Unicorn Kisses

For our last cocktail, let’s amp up the creativity and sweetness to max levels for a drink that’s a little silly and a lot of fun. To craft this bright purple cocktail with an easy-drinking profile, you’ll need:4

Making the Drink

You’re probably getting the hang of this by now—add everything into your blender and mix it up to create a delicious vodka slushy. Serve this in a rocks glass and for a fun garnish, top it off with some edible glitter to add to the drink’s magic.

Kickoff Ladies’ Night in Style with SLIQ

Strawberry Vodka Cocktail

#1 Frozen Citrus Strawberry Vodka Cocktail

When it comes to Valentine’s Day cocktails (and most other pink vodka drinks), never underestimate the power of champagne. A timehttps://sliqspiritedice.com/blog/4-creative-and-f…cocktail-recipes/-honored staple of dewey-eyed toasts and declarations of love, champagne is practically synonymous with romance.

That’s why the Frozen Strawberry Vodka Cocktail is perfect for a Valentine’s Day cocktail. The sparkle of the champagne matches the twinkle in your loved one’s eyes—and the cocktail’s red hue matches the festivity of the occasion.1

Ingredients:

Here’s what to do next:

  1. In a martini mixer, muddle a few strawberries.
  2. Then, add the vodka and the SLIQ Spirited Ice Vodka Cranberry & Grapefruit Pop.
  3. Shake well, then top with champagne, stirring to combine.
  4. To up the romance factor, serve the cocktail in a champagne flute or wine glass and garnish with a strawberry.

#2 Frozen Red Lotus

If you’re looking for a cocktail that’s as sweet as your love, then look no further than the Frozen Red Lotus. Riffing on the perennially popular vodka cranberry by adding lychee liqueur—thought by some to be a potent aphrodisiac2—this drink is both familiar and exciting.

Even better? It’s as simple to make. Here’s how:

Begin by collecting your ingredients. You’ll need:3

Next, start mixing:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a martini shaker.
  2. Shake well. Then pour, serve, and enjoy your cranberry and citrus vodka drinks.

#3 Frozen Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Cocktail

Chocolate-covered strawberries are a sultry treat for this romantic holiday—and they’re even more seductive in cocktail form.

This fun and festive cocktail is usually made with vodka, but we’re subbing in tequila in our recipe to add a smoky, mellow note to an otherwise sweet and sugary drink.

To make your own Frozen Chocolate-Covered Strawberry cocktail, you’ll need:4

And here’s how to do it:

  1. Puree the strawberries – you can make a fresh strawberry puree in a food processor or right in your blender.
  2. Once you’ve pureed the strawberries, you can mix the creme de cocoa, half and half, tequila, and your frozen margarita pop
  3. Garnish, pour, and serve. Swirling an empty wine glass or chilled cocktail glass with a little chocolate syrup really heightens the ‘wow’ factor of this one. Once you’ve done that, pour the drink, garnish with a chocolate covered strawberry, and let the romance begin.

#4 Frozen Bésame Cocktail

Finally, nothing gets closer to the heart of the holiday than the classic Bésame Cocktail. From the Spanish word for “kiss me,” this delicious love potion cocktail is perfect for saying what you can’t say with words.

Ingredients:5

This classic cocktail involves a few steps, but they’re all pretty straightforward.

  1. In a martini shaker, muddle the lime wedges and raspberries until very well blended.
  2. Once you’ve muddled the fruit, add the Agavero liqueur, SLIQ Spirited Ice Agave frozen cocktail pop, and the raspberry liquor. Shake together until well mixed.
  3. Remove the lid from the martini shaker and pour the mixture into highball glasses. Garnish with a lime wedge or fresh raspberries and serve.
